About the Artist:
Peter brings a traditional touch to his versatile painting style, incorporating multiple pattern types with a special focus on resin flake work—a skill he mastered under the guidance of Sal Manzano. His favorite part of his craft is seeing the joy on his clients' faces when they see their cars for the first time, as well as the recognition he receives for his work. In 2017, he began sharing his knowledge with others, partnering with Alejandro "Chino" Vega to tour the country and teach the art of lowrider custom paint, preserving this unique culture for future generations.
Artistic Inspiration:
Peter's inspiration for custom painting began in his childhood, collecting Lowrider magazines and dreaming of one day seeing his own art featured on its pages. This early fascination with the unique artistry in those publications ignited his passion for custom paintwork and set him on the path to becoming the skilled artist he is today.
Favorite Tropical Glitz Product:
Peter says his favorite Tropical Glitz product is the Lowrider Paint Masters metal flake, which he feels truly brings his work to life. He’s also a big fan of our intercoat and candy concentrates, which he describes as "fire" for the rich color and depth they add to his custom paint projects.
Special Achievements:
Peter has received several notable awards for his custom painting. His work has won multiple "Best Paint" awards and has been featured in about 15 magazine spreads, including two front covers. One of his proudest achievements came in 2014 when he was inducted into the United National Lowrider Hall of Fame, marking a significant milestone in his career and solidifying his impact on the custom paint community.
