About the Artist:
Andy blends various styles, including Art Deco, Lowrider, modern, and mini truck, to create his unique paint jobs. He has a passion for color and incorporates bright, bold hues into his work, often earning him compliments for his "signature" look. What Andy loves most about his craft is the opportunity to be creative. When someone says, "do what you do," he feels a sense of joy and fulfillment. He considers himself fortunate to make a living doing what he loves.
Artistic Inspiration:
Inspired by skateboard art and concert posters, Andy's journey into custom painting began with the influential work of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth. Nearly 30 years later, he has had the opportunity to meet and befriend many of his custom painting heroes, fostering a deep appreciation and respect for the artists who paved the way for him. He recognizes the incredible talent present in the community today and feels truly humbled to be a part of the Tropical Glitz team, representing a brand that aligns with his passion for art.
Favorite Tropical Glitz Product:
Andy says he loves everything that Tropical Glitz has to offer. Our signature candy concentrates, pearls, basecoats, and leaf are present in all of his work. If he had to choose a favorite, it would be the Mos Image Overtime flake, which he considers his go-to flake, and he absolutely loves the Interstellar pearls.
Special Achievements:
Andy has produced paint jobs that have received numerous awards, ranging from local shows to prestigious national competitions. He has been featured in about a dozen magazines, and last year, he was invited to teach custom paint at Utah Valley University as part of their two-year collision repair and street rod program.
