Its mild odor and non-flammable nature make it a safer and more dependable alternative to traditional oil-based sizes. Designed for use at full strength, Dux Water-Based Size should not be diluted. Upon curing, it forms a durable surface, and if there is expected contact with the gilded surface, sealing is recommended.

While we do not provide color samples, we do offer small 2oz RTS bottles and 1.5oz metal flake jars for purchase.     Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of dust or debris. Stir the Dux Water-Based Size thoroughly before use.

    Application: Apply the size evenly to the desired surface using a brush or roller. Allow the size to dry for approximately 25 minutes until it reaches the appropriate tackiness for leaf application.

    Gilding: Carefully apply the leaf to the tacky surface, using a soft brush to smooth it out and ensure proper adhesion. Overlap edges if necessary to ensure full coverage.

    Drying and Curing: The size will remain tacky for 24 to 36 hours, providing ample time to complete your gilding project. Allow the size to cure completely.

    Sealing: If there is expected contact with the gilded surface, apply a suitable sealer to protect and preserve the gilded finish.

    Storage: Store any unused size in a cool, dry place to maintain its efficacy and prevent contamination.
