Usage Guidelines

Preparation: Ensure that the surface is thoroughly cleaned and free of any dust or debris.
Application: Apply an even, thin coat of Dux Slow Set Oil Size to the area where gilding will occur. Use a clean brush or applicator to avoid contamination.
Drying Time: Allow the oil size to set and achieve tackiness over a period of 10-12 hours.
Gilding: Once the oil size is tacky, apply the metal leaf. The extended open time allows for detailed and accurate application.
Curing: Allow the surface to cure undisturbed for at least one week before applying any sealants or additional coatings to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
Clean-Up: Clean tools and brushes with suitable solvents immediately after use to maintain their condition.
Note: Adjust application and drying times based on local environmental conditions for the best results.

Works great really makes my project for my black trim on my 24 mustang gt pop without being too bright. I do recoment a paint can shaker if using the aresol version. The flake likes to settle. I have a rotary one for my drill and one for my sawzall. Gets the pearl nice and mixed.

I did it wrong and it STILL looks awesome!

I'll start by saying I did everything you could the wrong way because I didn't have much choice. I sprayed these outdoors, on a cooler day, during the windiest November I can remember.

That said, this kit exceeded my expectations and I am certain that in the right conditions you can expect a near perfect finish. The color coat is a little tricky until you realize your spray pattern HAS to be short bursts followed by a shake of the can. Just do it, shake more often than you would normally do even using metallics. Once you do, it's all gravy from there on. And the 2k Glamour coat is awesome, straight up awesome.
